| Graal Invasion of Lintsyian Colony World
The trip through the wormhole was only the second time the Graal had ever traversed the strange space anomalies. As the ships came back into real-time, Mil-Mognosh Suda gave a mighty shake of his frame to relieve himself of the feeling of being frozen, and quickly pointed a thick finger forward. " REPORT! " The half dozen naval officers at the various consoles in a semi-circle around him. He was on the bridge of the Nodus, a Kiwga-class Cruiser, the Flagship of the 2nd Graal Assault Navy. It sulked near the fore of the formation, but not at the very front.
An interesting thing here to note is that all Graal vessels were without energy shields, which was probably a commodity within the galactic civilizations of the day. Instead they had extra thick metallic plating that often strained the pulse engines to their very brim to keep up the speed required b the various vessels.
" Ships to our bow, slowly pulling into formation to block us. They are centering around a very large ship. Here, " A few clicks by the naval officer brought a digital display of the Titan up. Mil-Mognosh Suda studied it, and assumed it had to be their capital ship, as any Graal would do. The bigger, the better.
There was a foreboding peace before the storm. While neither fleet was in range, every Graal understood what was about to happen. Any attempts to receive communications were ignored.

| The Graal Confederacy has invaded Aliq, one of two colony worlds from the Lintsyian republic. Things look grim for the defenders. They are outnumbered, and their ground troops are also outmatched. While primitive, the Graal ships are still deadly, and they have a ruthlessness that can send other, more civilized races into bouts of terror. The Graal are eager for war, and are not afraid of the consequences.
Things are not totally grim though. Due to quick action by the Empress of the republic, the Titan Glatia is already in the system. The massive ship is the pinnacle of Lintsyian engineering. It has defenses capable of withstanding more than two battleships, and enough firepower to vaporize anything but another capital ship in one shot. Overcoming it will be dire challenge for the invaders. The Lintsyians are also more technologically advanced than the Graal, and their ships are more firmly constructed. Reinforcements have already been sent for, and if the defenders can hold out there is a chance that the invaders can be turned back.

| Captain Garith stood in the bridge of the Glatia, watching the Graal fleet with a mix of awe and curiosity. "I've never seen anything like them," he said. One of the officers at a scanning console spoke up. "Captain, the initial sweep of their ships says that their using a modified version of Electric Pulse technology. How could that be?" Garith shrugged. "I don't know." he continued to watch the ships in the distance. "What are they doing? Has there been any responce to our hails?" another crewman shook her head. "No resonse." the Captain thought for a moment, then sent a message to all ships in range. "This is Captain Garith of the Glatia. I want all vessels to withold fire unless these ships open fire first. In which case, fire at will." Although no one could see it, Garith was on edge about this. This would test the new Titan's offensive abilites. What were these strange newcomers going to do first...? |

| Aboard the Nodus, the Flagship of the 2nd Graal Assault Navy
" We are about to be in range, Mil-Mognosh. " A voice from somewhere near the monitoring station shouted.
" I want all all four Cruiser Flotilla's (125 Cruisers) to engage immediately. Bring my vessel, the Towdu, and the Nassar about to face their flagship. " The Towdu and Nassar were Kiwga-class Cruisers. They flanked the Flagship and it would be easy for them to follow without breaking formation.
The 2nd Graal Assault Navy was massive in comparison to the Lintsyian Defense Forces, Suda felt confident he could crush them. The pulse batteries of the fleet had started to fire, creating a shower of long, cobalt hued bolts that flung themselves toward the enemy fleet. A pulse battery fired about once every ninety seconds, as it took two dozen gunnery sailors to remove the spent pulse cartridge and insert a new one into the huge guns that stuck out of the frames of the warship.
" Send the Destroyers across the right flank to penetrate the formation. I want the 1st Battleship Flotilla (25 Battleships) here in the throng with us. Bring them down! " Suda yelled, as already the "PYOOOOM PYOOM" of the pulse batteries was echoing across the hull of the ship.
" Maintain the 2nd Battlehip Flotilla (25 Battleships) around the Transport Flotilla (40 Transports) until they have fully engaged us. I don't want any of that pup Veruk's ships destroyed if we can help it. "
The Nodus and its two escorts had entered the fray, shooting to both port and starboard until they could effectively broadside the Titan. This tactic might even offset the defenders, as the days of broadsiding were over for most cultures. Graal warships had been designed to broadside however, as a larger portion of guns lined the sides rather than the front.

| 15 of the Destroyers on hand slid forward a little, emitting violet-colored streams of plasma. The rest of the small defenses soon followed, and the battle space was filled with cross fire of cobalt and violet. Most of the transports stayed closer to the planet. All of the Crusiers and the remaining Destoryers held their positions, forming a sort of wall with a hole in the center for the Glatia. The titan was shoot multiple streams of plasma as well. The dis[atched Destoryers gained speed, being the first into Averi ships into the fray. Their engines left multicolored clouds of dust in their wakes.
(By the way, both the Lintsyian Republic and I haven't had alot of wars, so most of these are going to be pretty amature.) |

| Flashes of violet and pulses of blue streamed across the void of space as the battle was joined. In moments, ships were rent into great husks of twisted metal, silently screaming their agony to the stars. Chunks of armor flew off Graal vessels, while the flash of shielding intercepted shot after shot fired at the the Lintsyians. There was a lot more blue than violet.
The battle was going badly for the republic. The enemy destroyers, momentarily halted by the interception, managed to crash through the right flank and and threaten to encircle or bypass the defenders. The massive, crushing weight of the assault was quickly annihilated what defenses the fleet had. Only the first few ships sent by the Graal collapsed under retaliatory fire, the rest barreled through the lines, unstoppable through sheer numbers. It was all over when a massive, blinding explosion temporarily blinded anyone looking at a video-screen: The Glatia had exploded. Stricken with terror, the remaining Lintsyian ships fled for their lives, leaving the planet at the conqueror's mercy.
There was compensation though. The advanced command network of the Lintsyians had done its part when, in the first moments of the battle, it had identified the Nodus as a command vessel by its escorts and locked onto it. Perhaps it was one of the natural results of the Graal's lust for battle to put their commanders at risk, but the result was deadly. The Titan's massive cannons had bathed the Nodus in violet, vaporizing half the cruiser along with its crew, and Mil-Mognosh, commander of the Navy.

| Aboard the Nog-class Transport Issug, the 1st Transport Flotilla Command Ship
" The contact signal from the Nodus is gone, Mognosh Veruk! "
Veruk turned to face the sailor who had told him. He swathed a hand through the air and pointed to the nearby view screen. " Bring up the wreckage near the destroyed enemy flagship. There, to the left. "
The camera had panned and settled on the rear half of a Kiwga-class Cruiser. The letters US 004 were identified on the hull. Obviously of the identification NODUS 004. The wreckage was the Nodus, there was no denying that. Veruk sighed, Sug would not be happy with the death of his cousin. " Relay this to the fleet. Mognush Veruk is taking over as the Admiral of the 2nd Fleet. They will move to blockade the primary settlement on the planet to ensure no ships leave or enter the planets atmosphere. Four destroyers will run patrols on the far side of the planet and report in if they sight any contacts. The 17th Army is going planetside under Mil-Mognosh Gragoth. I will transfer my flag to the Siftus (a Kiwga-class Cruiser) and command from there. "
He continued, " During landing operations, I want every flak cannon and bunker big enough to be targeted to be fried as soon as they open up on our landing craft. Graal go with you. Out. "
While many sailors would not be at all happy to be under the commander of an Army Mognosh, they understood their cooperation was necessary. The 17th Graal Expeditionary Army began its descent planetside toward the primary settlement. Casualties were expected, but the hundreds of thousands of troops going planetside would inevitably mean victory. The transports themselves intended to land just outside of Aliq's primary settlement, with Armor Regiments leading the way, and a bulk of the Infantry Regiments falling behind in their wake. |

| The fraction of the ships that remained flew to the edges of the system, hoping that reinforcements would be enough to at least stall these aliens. When they'd first come through, they'd almost had more than the number of ships in the entire Republic.
The transports had landed at the first signs of trouble, touching down on the landing pads of the islands on Aliq's watery surface. The ground forces assembled, ready to protect the structure nearest to their landing spot. Orbital defense systems hung in the exosphere, wating for the Graal ships to get close enough to fire. |

| Ripples emanated from the wormhole on the far side of the planet. A shuddering of light and space followed, disgorging new hope for the beleaguered colony: 40 Destroyers and 30 Cruisers, scrambled from the rest of the republic, but fresh and ready for action. In addition, a pair of supply ships came, quickly latching onto the remaining republican ships and providing them with fresh equipment and quick repairs. The total Lintysian forces in the system now totaled 46 Destroyers and 31 Cruisers.
Eager for war, the Graal transports hurtled towards Aliq without hesitation. Orbital defense satellites roared to life, swatting the first two transports out of the sky. Their charred remained crashed towards the planet, splashing into the deep water and sinking into the depths. Hundreds of Graal soldiers and tanks drown in the deep water. The satellites did not have a chance to do more damage; they were swatted out of the sky with flashes of blue as the fleet took up position over the city.
The remaining Graal transports landed safely just outside the city, which was itself lightly defended. The majority of the Lintysian forces were concentrated on the far side of the city, defending the city's transports.

| Aboard the Siftus, a Kiwga-Class Cruiser, Flagship of the 2nd Graal Assault Navy
" Transports 004 and 063 are down. " A nearby radio officer reported.
" What was the cargo? " Mognosh Veruk inquired.
" The 55th Armored Corps, 57th Armored Corps, 138th Armored Corps on the oh-four. The 2nd Graal Infantry Corps, the 5th Infantry Corps, and the 319th Infantry Corps on the six-three. "
" Continue the operation. We will smash them before they can prepare. Order the 17th to attack from the west as soon as they have all landed. Order the 24th to stand in reserve, but deploy their artillery to bombard the city during the attack. " Mognosh Veruk said.
" Mognosh, the Destroyer Craddus has an incoming transmission! "
" Send it through. "
TRANSMISSION: " This is the Craddus on the far side. The enemy has just warped in auxiliary forces via a wormhole. We are on our way back to the near side. Out. "
" Maintain our position, bring the Cruisers to the edge of the formation, if they come around the planet, we will engage them. All damaged ships to the center of the formation! "

Landing Spot of the 17th Graal Expeditionary Arm. West of Aliq's Capital.
The 938th " Hollow Eyes " had been the first to land. The transport ramps dropped and the entire Regiment went hurrying into the assembly zone. They had to wait a handful of hours as SNOG Main Battle Tanks roared off other transports and other infantry. Sidd-Mognosh Villus, Commander of the 938th rallied his regiment to the left flank of the primary order of battle. The Graal were mean, the Graal were ready. As the troops hustled into position, Sidd-Mognosh (and near fifty other Sub-Commanders) attended a small group around a SNOG Main Battle Tank where commanders were looking at a hastily drawn map.
" They've spotted the primary bunkers here, and here. The main axis of assault will jut directly into this avenue toward the central streets. I want the 40th Corps down the left lane, followed by the 155th. I want the 244th, the 380th, and the 12th Corps along the right side. nothing will stop our tanks! We must crush them, lest they dig in and cause us more problems! "
As the Regimental Commanders went back to their units, several of the 60mm Black Lance Artillery pieces had started to fire into the city, long streaks of blue and black rained down into the city. It was the signal to attack, and Sidd-Mognosh Villus ordered his regiment forward at a jog beside the SNOG's, their Pulse Rifles at the ready.
The main attack was in the center, comprised of about 65% of the SNOG's, with 15% of the remaining SNOGs on the left, and 15% on the right. The right had been supported with a larger number of infantry for the compensation. As Villus started to run forward, he gave a glance back. There was no end to the transports and the dispatching soldiers, as far as he could see there were troops getting ready for the assault in reserve. |

| All the vessels that had just exited the event horizon grouped with the other ships that had been there before. 14 Destroyers and 14 Crusiers made a wall two ships thick and began attacking the mostly unharmed ships that they could. The rest of the fleet stayed behind to see what they could do.
On the surface, the soldiers stayed mostly out of the way of the tanks and only tried to attack the walking enemies. Shots of yellow plasma shot from their TETRA weapons. the only four tank-type defenses present on the planet were also starting an assult. |

| Shots once again flashed across the stars as the Lintysian forray engaged the Graal Cruisers. Commanders and civilians watched with their eyes glued to the screens as the engagement went on. No one truly believed that the small group could seriously do anything about the massive armada. Sure enough, a series of explosions flashed across the sky, visible from the besieged colony. Five Lintysian cruisers were utterly annihilated, completely vaporized. The others defied their orders and did not engage.
The republican destroyers, however, had more luck. The small, fast ships darted into the fray, overwhelming Graal cruisers in "Wolf packs" and destroying them before they could return fire. More than one Graal gunnery officer bashed his head against his targeting display in that battle, swearing in rage and annoyance as companion ships were overwhelmed and he had no chance to help, nor even a chance to hit one of the small ships.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Kill anything that moves and isn't one of us!" Chief Hark yelled, his squad strutting through the streets like they already owned them. The scream of explosions from distant artillery installations made an appropriate rhythm for their assault. Already one could tell which parts of the city were under Graal control by the smoke, fire and destruction they left in their wake.
A crowd of civilians came around a corner, stared at the invading Graal, and ran.
"Fire!" Hark roared, pulling his rifle up and emptying a volley of blue into the screaming Lintysians. His squad joined in, mowing down the unfortunates. Just then the chief heard a *thump* and turned around, only to find an angry Lintysian soldier staring him in the face, with what looked like a glowing orange longsword. Hark would have had to be far faster than he was; his hand has just started to move when the blade sliced through his armor like shears through paper.
The roar of armor approached as the Lintysian pulled his blade out of the dead Graal. "Pull back!" He ordered his squad, who were done dispatching the enemy. "If we stay here, we get overwhelmed!"
The fight was urban, the fight was brutal. The Lintysians, trapped and pushed into a corner, fought ferociously, moving through buildings and ambushing enemies of opportunity. Many Graal were caught by surprise when they overextended themselves. It couldn't go on though, there were too many, and even as Graal casualties rose they pushed the Lintysians back.

| ALIQ CAPITAL CITY, SOUTHERN EDGE, COLONY WORLD: ALIQ, LINTSYIAN REPUBLIC
In one of the first three story buildings captured by the Graal, a Command Center had been established. Mil-Mognosh Muth of the 17th Graal Expeditionary Army and a full Graal Infantry Regiment had taken the building over and now commanded the Battle of Aliq from the third floor. He was flanked by Sidd-Mognosh Villus, Sidd-Mognosh Lod, and Sidd-Mognosh Jessu, two Infantry Commanders and an Armor Commander. They were reviewing a map, newly updated from units at the front. They had been steamrolling the opposition but taking casualties. Mognosh Muth understood the bloodlust of the Graal, and that they would be hard to tame, but he got on the COM to radio his fellow Regimental Commanders.
" All Infantry Regiments, slow down to allow the Armor to spearhead. The enemy seems prone to engaging at close-range. I want pups on top of the tanks as look outs. They are retreating back toward the Northeastern Quadrant. Orbital surveillance seems to think they have transports there. I will radio the coordinates of the location to the 2nd Fleet for bombardment. " He than began to give more specific orders to the three attacking groups.
" Assault Group West, continue your assault. The main vanguard of SNOGs should be close to an interstate used for .. mining or recovery operations. Commandeer that and head Northeast, allow Infantry Regiments in increments to remain behind, but keep enough with the tanks to ensure the armor isn't jeopardized. "
" Assault Group East, I want you to head west and consolidate the gains of Assault Group West and Central. They've left a lot of the population behind, they need to be suppressed in the case of uprisings. I want SNOGs with Infantry companies at the main avenues, and a square cleared out for the artillery to sit. "
" Assault Group Center. Slow your pace to seven snugs per hour. Recall the forward Infantry Regiments back to the Armored vanguard, they're getting attacked from too many angles without armor support. Continue your primary assault and veer slightly to the Northeast to get to the landing craft. "

TRANSMISSION: " Mognosh Veruk, we believe the enemy are retreating to a rear fortress at the northeastern edge of the capital. We request immediate orbital bombardment of that location! "
Mognosh Veruk was quick to reply, one of his eyes swollen and several of the crew dead from an attack by a Republic Cruiser that had left the Siftus in minor damage.. " Proceed with the bombardment. Let them have it! " |

| On the surface...
The leader of the Aliq colonies stood within the Northeast Fortress. The medical teams were treating the wounded they could find- which wasn't much. Most of them bled to death in the streets before being found. "They seem to be readying an orbital bombardment, Fi," one of the officers sitting at a console said gravely. "What of our sheilding?" the leader asked. "The explosion of the Glatia caused a reaction in the stellar cores. Dark energy shields are running on auxillary power. They will on only take so much. Electromagnetic shields are offline." Fi, the leader, sighed. "What provoked this attack? We have never been beyond Aliq. What could we have possibly done that we must die for?" Fi stopped. "My people will have no choice but to keep quiet. If all else fails..." she stopped for the last time.
Above the planet, the remaining fleet merely watched as the Capital Building of the Aliq Colonies was about to be blasted into smitherines... Some crusiers ( 8 ) felt lucky and deified their standing order to stand down and tried to damage some more of the fleet.
The ground soldiers that could fight found any way they could to sneak up on the strange invaders. |

| The space battle was going predictably. The Lintysian cruisers were destroyed quickly when they went up against the massive cordon of Graal ships. They were shot out of the sky unceremoniously, but managed to take down 6 more enemy cruisers with them. It was the Lintsyian Destroyers that were doing the real damage. Now they came around again, skirting the enemy forces and assaulting enemies in packs. Again, they struck, and again they managed to retreat before the enemy retaliated.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sky rumbled ominously with a rolling thunder. Soldiers and tanks stopped in their tracks as bolts of cobalt blue rained downwards from the heavens, obliterating the Lintysian fortress and most of the transports. This was too much. The republicans who dared surrendered en-mass. The others, accepting their own demise, desperately fought on as they were forced into a small corner of the city.
